Our client required a home that would be larger and take advantage of the natural light.
To breathe life into a dark terrace and use design initiatives to increase the perceived depth of the terrace.
We raised the roof of the terrace and designed an attic. The new structure provides more space and lets in more daylight through the use of a clerestory. It also provides natural ventilation through remote-controlled louvers.
The design features an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a flow-through to the rear deck and garden. We used wide tallowwood floorboards to lend a warm ambience to the living areas.
The end result is a home that is light and airy, with flexible living areas that are ideal for contemporary living.
